The Austin District plans, designs, builds, operates and maintains the state transportation system in its 11 counties. The district conducts asset preservation and mobility projects to help keep motorists moving and to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
Austin Transportation and Public Works (TPW) is responsible for a variety of transportation, mobility and safety functions throughout the community. TPW works with many Austin-area partners and agencies to ensure the transportation network is reliable, safe and well-maintained for all users.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties. Their mission is to develop, deliver, operate and maintain high-quality roadways and related transportation solutions.
CapMetro is Austin’s regional public transportation provider. Since its creation in 1985, CapMetro has worked every day to give residents, commuters and visitors the best possible transit options to match their busy everyday lives.
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson Counties.
Travis County’s Transportation and Natural Resources (TNR) Public Works Division provides engineering, design, construction and maintenance services for more than 1,250 centerline miles of roadway, along with associated drainage systems and 200 bridges.
The Austin Transit Partnership is the local government corporation responsible for implementing Project Connect and leading Austin Light Rail. ATP is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, planning, financing, execution and oversight of Austin Light Rail.
